I designed the LASZLO sign as an homage to IBM's classic "THINK" desk sign. This was my first foray into multicolor 3D printing.

Just For Fun!
This fun experiment showcases the power of multicolor 3D printing, a relatively new phenomenon in hobbyist-level printing.
All three colors, in this case red, orange, and green, are fused into one piece by the printer.
On the right, you can see the original sign, followed by my remake in Rhinoceros 3D, and finally the printed version.

Modular and Repeatable
I revisited this concept to make a birthday present for a friend. For this version, I made the stand on the back removable so that it would be easier to fit in an envelope.
It turned out quite well, and the upgraded stand on the back made it both easier to ship and easier to stand up. Below you can see the "official render" alongside a photo I received of the proudly-displayed final product.
Remaking found objects in Rhino is a ton of fun. With multicolor 3D printing, you can make more faithful reproductions of these fun imaginings. Plus, they make great gifts!
